Loosid Sober Tip of the Day December 9

There is a saying, “For those amongst us no explanation is necessary. For those not amongst us no explanation is possible.”

We often get frustrated when friends or family members don’t understand why we do what we do.

The truth is, if they are not one of us, they cannot and will not be able to identify with what we are feeling.

This is the beauty of connecting with people who share your common bond.

Surround yourself who can identify with what you are going through. Though our experiences are different, the feelings of loneliness, isolation, and the need to get out of the now remain the same.

So true. Perfectly said

I’ve come to realize that surrounding myself with like minded people who are not only in sobriety but people who want to uplift you is a must. When I’m at an AA meeting I’m right where I need to be with people, friends, and those who share the common bond. When I’m lonely-meeting or call someone in my support group. When I’m depressed- meeting or call someone in my support group. When I’m happy- meeting or call someone in my support group.
It’s when I get out of myself and my temporary emotions I’m then freed from my disease! If I sit too long in despair my disease takes control. Build a support group. Enjoy the company of those who are just like you. Spread the love to someone who is struggling. Give them hope and inspiration. Remember what you do in your life may effect what someone else is doing in their life!
