Loosid Sober Tip of the Day February 08

What is the quality of your sobriety?

In recovery, many people get fixated on the amount of sober time they have and compare it to others. As mentioned in a previous sober tip, the world record for sobriety is 24 hours and nobody has broken it yet!

Much like it’s never about the amount of years in one’s life, but rather the amount of life in one’s years, the same applies to sobriety.

Putting down the drink or the drug only allows us to enter a spiritual journey that we call recovery. Working a spiritual program allows us to be free from all the things that used to hold us back.

We often find people in recovery with only months of ‘sobriety time’ who are happy, joyous and free. Most often, this is because they actively work a spiritual program and, as a result, have what many people call ‘emotional sobriety’.

On the other side, there are many who have decades of ‘sober time’ who are miserable and still stuck in the bondage of self.

Freeing ourselves requires work, but the great news we all have the ability to achieve that freedom.

Find solace in the fact that you can be free any time you want. Choose freedom today. You deserve it.

How did this tip resonate with you? Let us know your thoughts below. There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

The quality of my sobriety is being myself (the person that God created me to be had I not picked up). To have hope and faith that God has a bigger plan for my life, like helping other people and not just focusing on me as I've done most of life throughout my addiction. God's will be done, and not mine.

This is a great reminder. Thanks! "Keeping up with the..." can be very exhausting, especially if you don't realize you're doing it.

I’m also going to say that I am sober just for today. Today’s tomorrow will be another day and I’m not going to future trip this time around. One day at a time is all anybody needs. Our needs are all the same and we all deserve to be happy. So committed for this journey and doing so each day one day at a time without fear of failure and loss of time is the best part of my success today thank you for reading

I don’t have decades of sober time and definitely still feel stuck in the bondage :sleepy: keep relapsing over and over again even though I promise every one and myself over and over again it will be different this time I promise feeling super defeated :disappointed:

22 days FREE from the Bondage of Drug Addiction! :grin:

Thanks for sharing. I have couple weeks. It's so hard.

I want to be free. Happy, joyous and free. I do the best I can every day. But I’m just not happy. Life is just so hard. Wah poor me😂
No but truly what am I missing? I want to feel lighter. I’m connecting but I feel so alone. Am I fooling myself? Ugh
