Loosid Sober Tip of the Day February 10

Hitting rock bottom.

Many people talk about having to reach rock bottom before coming into a spiritual program of recovery.

But how do we know we have reached rock bottom?

The answer is simply when we decide to stop digging.

It is not necessary that we lose everything. It is not necessary to lose our job, lose our families, or lose our home.

We do not even need to decide whether or not we have a problem.

All that is needed is a desire to stop drinking (or drugging).

We often come to the realization that we have a problem once we are able to identify with others and hear their problems.

It is at this point that we look further into a spiritual journey of recovery. Though our experiences are different, the feelings of isolation and the need to get out of the now are the same.

Stopped digging a month ago. Very happy with that decision! Have been doing well just on my own, but if I had a lot of stress to manage Iā€™d most likely try a meeting, or maybe counseling

Still had my family, job, house, friends. But knew it had to stop. I just knew!

Speaking for myself I needed to destroy my life before I was willing to try AA. I had to lose the kids, wife, house, car, license, freedom, health, and get to a point where I wanted to die. That was my gift. My Gift Of Desperation.

We dont have to lose anything to come in..My job got me in best day of my life! Thru the steps god and my sponsor i carry the principles in all my affairs..

Love it! There is so much stigma around going AF. But the thing is, anyone at anytime in their journey can stop poisoning themselves!
