Loosid Sober Tip of the Day February 11

FEAR. False evidence appearing real.

Fear is something that seems to rip through many of our lives. In 12- Step literature, they call it an evil and corroding thread and should be classified in the category of stealing.

There is much truth to this, as fear only resides in the future and we do not know whether any of what we think may happen will ever materialize.

Fear very much fits in the category of stealing and it robs us of the one thing we can never get back… TIME.

Think about how much time you have been afraid of something that has never happened. How much time was spent in those fears?

Choose not to lose any more time. Make a decision to take advantage of the present. That’s all we have. All we ever will have,

How did this tip resonate with you? Let us know your thoughts below. There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

I chose to stay in the present day by day.

Fear is usually the evil that brings me back to relapsing. My addicted mind just wants to numb the fear piercing through ever part of me. I need to remember that fear of the unknown is a waste of time and that numbing my fear with alcohol will never change the unknown future. What is definite about my future is that if I continue to drink I will end up in jail or worse my to my death.

I let fear take the wheel and drive. No more. Now I take the wheel

I struggle with living in the moment every day. I have anxiety about the future and get sad and depressed about the past and feel regret and guilt. Torturing myself replaying memories of my past behaviors on a loop in my mind and sometimes I visualize and remember everything every part. So dragging myself back to the present is something I have to force myself to everyday several times a day. So many times I hope one day it won’t be like this

Thank you for that. FEAR has stolen my time!

This is absolutely true! Needed this! Thanks!
