Loosid Sober Tip of the Day February 12

Moving from being sober to getting sober requires us to start working a spiritual program.

We have removed the ‘spirits’ and need to replace it with spirituality.

In 12-Step Groups, this consists of Unity (meetings and fellowship), Service (to others), and the 12 steps.

Whatever the spiritual program, you need to enter it quickly. If we sit in the seat of sobriety and not embark on a spiritual program, we will stay in pain.

If you have questions on what to do, ask in the comment section below. The Loosid community is here to help you.

If you have been sober for a while and are working a spiritual program, help the newcomers by sharing your experience below.

There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

A couple of months back into was listening to 2 men talk of their battles with alcohol. One of them asked me if I believe in God which threw me off. I felt like I didn't want to be rude to these men after hearing their stories but I also didn't want to lie to them. I hesitated and that hesitation led on of them to say. When we talk of God we are not talking about an invisible being in the sky but we are talking about our spiritually. He said GOD in an acronym for : good orderly direction. And if we walk threw life on that path we will have peace. Every day I struggle I think of them and that definition

It’s very important to find your fellowship finding the connections necessary for growth my meetings are important to me they give me a place where I can talk about my recovery process talk with others who have been through similar experiences find the people that care it’s important for people that are struggling to reach out I know it’s difficult in the beginning but believe in yourself you can find a road of healing, a healthy road of recovery ❤️‍🩹 I hope everyone has a beautiful day

Yes it’s very important to stay plugged into something bigger than myself. I have been using meditation and it’s been ducking great. When I feel some type of way it gets me through. I’m a big fan of meditation since I’ve been practicing being sober. Trying can get hard sometimes unfortunately practicing seems resourceful to me because I get to try new techniques like mindfulness and self awareness Thank you !

Addiction is described as a spiritual illness which requires a spiritual solution. We find that solution by working the twelve steps. Working the steps requires belief, however great or small, in a power greater than ourselves. When we talk of God, it's God of your own understanding. My power was sufficient to get me into addiction but a power greater than me is necessary for healing to take place and keep me in recovery

There is one that one is god may you find him now. when I first heard this in How it works I broke down cause I knew that was the piece I was missing. I surrounded myself with the people who were practicing spirituality. I keep in touch with them on a daily basis.
