Loosid Sober Tip of the Day February 23

Action, Reaction and Inaction.

We often think we are responsible for our actions.

Remember, at any time, we are responsible for three things: Our actions, our reactions and our inactions.

Ironically, inaction is often the most powerful.

This may mean restraint of pen and tongue by not sending that nasty text, email or phone response to someone who hurt you.

It may also mean sitting quietly with yourself and observing your thoughts and settling your mind.

Actions and reactions are very powerful as well.

Write down your actions, reactions and inactions from the last day. Then take an inventory to see what inactions were not useful and should have been acted upon.

Do the same for actions and reactions. You will get better each day. It just takes a bit of practice.

This is great food for thought and reflection. Reflecting on yesterday, I feel a tinge of regret for certain inaction. I choose not to dwell on that feeling, though; instead, I am taking intentional action toward my goals today.

One step backward is still backwards

I need to hear this I feel like I’m stagnant just stuck in one place but I know I don’t want to relapse. All I do is sleep eat and pray.

Wow. This meditation came up on my screen exactly when I needed it. I am going to try using it today. By God's Grace and AA I've been sober a long time but I still find faulty "tools" I've been using. I want to change the unhealthy actions and responses I have for helpful -dare I say mature and responsible abilities.
