Loosid Sober Tip of the Day January 02

We are as sick as our secrets.

This is a common expression used in recovery. It is important to feel our feelings and share with people what’s going on with the challenges in our lives.

What we hold inside builds up like a slow boil which at some point will manifest itself in some way, shape or form.

If you are struggling, share your struggles today.

If it’s something that is personal, be sure to share it with a trusted, close-mouthed friend. In 12-Step programs this is normally reserved for a sponsor.

In other settings, it may be more suitable for a professional.

What you need to know is that asking for help is something you should never be ashamed of but rather one to be proud of as you are taking steps to work through your challenges.

It is an act of power and courage.

Free yourself today by letting out what is inside of you and ask for help.

You are worth it.

So many secrets were built around alcohol use. Simply not drinking and many of those secrets have fallen away. That in itself is a giant relief

Oh what tangled web we weave… I’m not very good at lying (to others) but I’m very good at lying to myself. Delusions are human we all do it even nonalcoholics. And Einstein had irrationality but the difference in him and most of us is that he confronted his irrational ideas, and replaced them with ones that were more useful to understanding more, both internally and externally to the outer edges of the universe.

First step is radical acceptance. Once you accomplish this there is no need for secrets ever again.

2nd half of it was good for me... asking is key... beleive that the answers do exist! There's not one time since I stopped drinking and doing the 12 steps that really anybody has said no to me when I ask for help
