Loosid Sober Tip of the Day January 06

Yesterday we discussed how it feels to be sober. Today we look at what it takes to get sober.

Moving from being sober to getting sober requires us to start working a spiritual program.

We have removed the ‘spirits’ and need to replace it with spirituality.

In 12 step Groups, this consists of Unity (meetings and fellowship), Service (to others), and working the 12 steps.

Whatever the spiritual program, you need to enter it swiftly. If we sit in the seat of sobriety and not embark on a spiritual program, we will stay in pain.

There are people who stay ‘being sober’ without a spiritual program for decades and, while they are officially sober, they have not worked a spiritual program and because of this, have not had the opportunity to remove the blockages required to set them free. We often refer to these people as dry.

If you have questions on what to do, ask in the comment section below. The Loosid community is here to help you.

If you have been sober for a while and are working a spiritual program, help the newcomers by sharing your experience below.

There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

Way to go! I went to AA meetings everyday, somebody gave me a big book and I found a sponsor. All with the with the help of other friends of Bill W.

I did the 90 in 90. All the AA groups by me are filled with cliques and men who are looking to fill an addiction rather than alcohol. I've been doing it on my own for 9 months. Currently 4 months short of 3yrs.

I have been clean 10 months but for the first 6 months I still wasn’t truly happy on the inside I felt like something was missing I needed something more in my life and I found that in the rooms of narcotics anonymous and started working a program and it’s truly been a game changer for every aspect of my life

Well I say that if they been sober for decades, they have been blessed by Yahh(God) with something better than we ourselves can offer.

What to do?

Wow I was just in my Monday night "home group"
A home group is a small group that meets regularly. This one is 1st & 3rd
Monday night. And it's actually in a home. We eat a light dinner and do a steps study. Currently we are on step 5. We already did or are in the process of a thoughral inventory step 4 And getting ready to do read it. This is supposed to be between me my sponsor and God.

Notice there are 3 persons present during the reading My sponsor myself and God.
In this case the host... but in our group there are 6 dedicated men. We are doing it together. So I will read my inventory out loud all the ugly nasty dark secrets in they're presence.

With all those men there is only one who has the power to remove my shortcomings and character defects... that job that assignment belongs to ONLY GOD.
So I bare myself openly confess and admit my defects and those brothers they hear it and with compassion and love they witness God transforming healing and restoring my life.

That is a spiritual awakening. A re birth like a catapillar in a cacoon. The cacoon represents every hindrance blockage and bondage to addiction alcohol or self centered ness. I break free...
Not by the power of the group not by the instruction steps or literature,
But by the power of my loving all powerful God. Who loves me and cares for me who has already accepted me through steps 1-3.
My God new already what He was getting into when I cried out for His help and He responded. He knows me through and through so no more hiding in the darkness no more secrets. Honesty Willingness Openess and those men the other 5. Well they will be next I will hear there stuff too. But guess what I will see Gods power change they life too. And for me that is a spiritual program. Seeing God's Power at work transforming a life.

I've been sober for 7months
