Loosid Sober Tip of the Day January 12

There is a saying, “For those amongst us no explanation is necessary. For those not amongst us no explanation is possible.”

We often get frustrated when friends or family members don’t understand why we do what we do.

The truth is, if they are not one of us, they cannot and will not be able to identify with what we are feeling.

This is the beauty of connecting with people who share your common bond.

Surround yourself who can identify with what you are going through. Though our experiences are different, the feelings of loneliness, isolation, and the need to get out of the now remain the same.

So true

So, this is why I am single...lol.
I have not dated in 4 years. Been a widow for 5. I'm struggling. I've been asked out on a date by someone who does not have issues with addiction nor sobriety from any substance. We have been texting and have had phone conversations. He has asked me out for this weekend. I'm struggling with doubt. Because he does not have a history of issues with sobriety, I am feeling it would be a waste of my time to actually meet for the purpose of chemistry and connection. Any thoughts on relationships where one person is in recovery and the other is not?

Ive been single for 25yrs. Go, its only a date. Enjoy the company. Although I dont date i only hang out within the fellowship of AA.
Mainly cuz im nuts and no one else gets alcoholism ir drug addiction except us!!

The truth is nobody can understand unless you are like us.

Thank you!
