Loosid Sober Tip of the Day January 17

FEAR. False evidence appearing real.

Fear is something that seems to rip through many of our lives. In 12- Step literature, they call it an evil and corroding thread and should be classified in the category of stealing.

There is much truth to this, as fear only resides in the future and we do not know whether any of what we think may happen will ever materialize.

Fear very much fits in the category of stealing and it robs us of the one thing we can never get back… TIME.

Think about how much time you have been afraid of something that has never happened. How much time was spent in those fears?

Choose not to lose any more time. Make a decision to take advantage of the present. That’s all we have. All we ever will have,

How did this tip resonate with you? Let us know your thoughts below. There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

I put my trust in the Lord and and he helps me to kick fear to the curb. Fear holds you back and delays and possibly derails your recovery. Let go of the fear of tomorrow and live in the hope and time of today.

The only thing to fear is fear itself. At least when it’s produced by thought. If I’m about to get run over by a car fear can be a useful feeling, but in most cases its brought on by stinking thinking.

Oh I was full of fear growing up. Fear became less but more specific in my life. Most of the time I lived in fear of the unknown, what others thought of me, and many others. Doing my 4th step then sharing with God and another man has helped me see my fears for face value. Now I get to apply the tools I’ve learned in sobriety to help combat my fears. These tools are calling my sponsor, reaching out to my friends and family, sharing at meetings, meditation, prayer, going to church, and breathing techniques. Most of my situations I put myself in fear mode and resort back to old habits. But I’m grateful there’s a solution.

I have been stuck in fear of giving up alcohol for way too long. I needed this today and has strengthened my resolve to not drink today and to see the full moon tonight! Staying present today.

I never knew how full of fear I was the first time through sobriety, it wasn’t until I came back and started to really participate in my recovery did I see it. This was one of the first Acronyms I learned from my Sponsor once I got one.
