Loosid Sober Tip of the Day January 20

Letting go of shame and guilt.

When many of us enter recovery for the first time, we feel shame and guilt for who we are and what we have done. This also happens when people relapse and are afraid to let people know they slipped.

What you need to know is how powerful you are for having the courage to make the necessary changes to build a better life.

The most powerful people in life are people who have the courage to change. You are not alcoholism. You are not addiction.

You may have alcoholism or have an addiction in the same way that someone else might have diabetes. It’s what you do to treat your disease that allows you to be in a recovered state… just for today.

You may have done things in your active addiction which were wrong, but you will have the opportunity to make amends to those who you have harmed and clean up your side of the street.

Congratulations on having the courage to change and taking the necessary steps to build a beautiful life. You deserve it.

Powerful words :muscle:

Yup. After 8 years of sobriety I got relaxed in my program and released. It's hard to admit to non alcoholics. They think after some time you are "fixed" or cured of your disease. I have to remind myself to maintain my program. Just like car maintenance.

:pray::pray::pray::two_hearts:

What we have is a daily reprieve based on the maintenance of our spiritual condition. Like Lance said, your car's not gonna keep running well just because you fixed it once. This is a great life! We can't neglect our recovery

Love it

The first steps I needed to work on was learning to recover from addiction learning to love myself that’s always been a struggle but today I’m gaining confidence and strength I’m starting to heal In active addiction we tend to abuse ourselves and people that care making amends is part of our healing just for today I am becoming someone I am not my addiction but someone who’s strong enough to take the necessary steps to better my life If you are struggling or new don’t I’ve up on yourself you are worth it. keep going :pray:t3::heart::sparkles::blush:
