Loosid Sober Tip of the Day January 24

Identify, don’t compare.

When we come into a spiritual program of recovery, many of us will find that we compare our stories with others.

We may feel we have not reached the desperate levels others have or, alternatively, we may look at our stories and think that we have had a much rougher time.

It is not our job to take the inventory of others.

It is very important never to compare stories, but rather identify with the feelings.
Look for the similarities, not the differences.

When we focus on similarities, we will invariably find them.

Yes that's what we have to remember, we've all ended up in the same place or a similar meetings, programs, some in Court systems and or Prison,,, it's just that we seek out help when we're ready,,, Not everyone's the same in that aspect of our recovery !!! :100::100::100:

Everyone has their own story and how they became sober. I never compare my story to others because not all our stories are the same. They can't be. Just be thankful for being sober today!

I can honestly say I've done this when I first started my journey which inevitably led me to a lower bottom every time. I didn't think I was as bad as others or " I'll never do that!!!" Never say never I only ended up digging a deeper hole. I'm learning pain is pain. Hurt people hurt people and judging only leads to being in that same situation if not deeper. I don't regret it because it took what it took for me to realize I'm not exempt. It definitely humbled me in ways I needed it to to allow me to want to change. That's just part of my story God Bless. One day at a time

Your life and your story and my life and my story have at least 1 thing in common, we were/are drunks and now we are not being drunks.
