Loosid Sober Tip of the Day January 25

Compare and despair.

Yesterday, we talked about how important it is to identify with the feelings and never to compare stories.

Comparing ourselves to others is a trap that too many people in recovery find themselves.

When we compare ourselves to others, we lose sight of the entire reason why we are in recovery… to connect with likeminded others who share our common bond.

Comparison is the death of happiness. We must look toward others with hope and, for those who may be sicker than others, we must choose empathy.

When we compare, we either feel worse about ourselves or we feel better than others. Self-pity or ego. Either path is the wrong path.

Make a commitment today to not compare yourself to others. You are exactly where you need to be.

You are exactly right I am recovery now and I am so confused even though this is not the first time that I've done this and I'm also tired of it because it seems like I cannot find my way I have a mental block because I just do not know what to do sometimes and yes I found myself getting confused and mad because yes I do prepare myself to others I want what they have and I get mad and frustrated because I don't have what they have even a simple things too so yes I do understand and I do do that a lot so yes this with me any help would help because yes I tend to talk to myself a lot I should come and feel more because yes I treat you and trying to find my way the only thing that I have figured out is that it is beyond the drugs now so I just don't understand where I'm going or what I really need I pray everyday I'm just trying to peace it seem like I just can't find it

Hey, slow down. Piece by piece it will come together. Just for today, be. Just be. Sit with the emotions. I hear you. I see you.

Reach out if you are struggling. You are in the right place. Now. The place is now. Deep breaths. Calming locations in your thoughts.

Just for today be sober. You got this.
