Loosid Sober Tip of the Day Jul 13

Identify, don’t compare.

When we come into a spiritual program of recovery, many of us will find that we compare our stories with others.

We may feel we have not reached the desperate levels others have or, alternatively, we may look at our stories and think that we have had a much rougher time.

It is not our job to take the inventory of others.

It is very important never to compare stories, but rather identify with the feelings.
Look for the similarities, not the differences.

When we focus on similarities, we will invariably find them.

I never compare. I find inspiration and reassurance. We have all suffered under darkness. Now we embrace the light.

That is a good message. I am to the point I drink every day. I go to bed telling myself not tomorrow. I am going to stop. Yesterday I made it to 8:00 p.m. but I still drink nine shots.

I can't talk to people at work or friends.

Ask yourself , what am I avoiding?. When not drinking feelings arise , they can be uncomfortable, sit with those feelings, what are they telling you ?
