Loosid Sober Tip of the Day July 11

Yesterday we discussed how it feels to be sober. Today we look at what it takes to get sober.

Moving from being sober to getting sober requires us to start working a spiritual program.

We have removed the ‘spirits’ and need to replace it with spirituality.

In 12 step Groups, this consists of Unity (meetings and fellowship), Service (to others), and working the 12 steps.

Whatever the spiritual program, you need to enter it swiftly. If we sit in the seat of sobriety and not embark on a spiritual program, we will stay in pain.

There are people who stay ‘being sober’ without a spiritual program for decades and, while they are officially sober, they have not worked a spiritual program and because of this, have not had the opportunity to remove the blockages required to set them free. We often refer to these people as dry.

If you have questions on what to do, ask in the comment section below. The Loosid community is here to help you.

If you have been sober for a while and are working a spiritual program, help the newcomers by sharing your experience below.

There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

Goodmorning And just how do I go by joining

What does it take i am desperate i have many years but im no super hero i need help!!

My sponsor told me that when you work the steps it opens the door to spiritual awakenings as well as spiritual direction and that exactly what helps me to let go and let God work in my life. Meetings are awesome and a intimate relationship with a peer or sponsor is an amazing experience. I hope all of you have a wonderful day sober. Your worth it!

Hi everyone, I read this book Calle Atomic Habits and it states that in order for us to break a bad habit we have to replace it with another good habit for example: no more drinking = going to the gym more , going to the Mall and getting yourself new clothes , picking up your favorite hobbies . Drinking equals money so we have some money for these things.

Seriously?? I've been sober two and a half years. No relapses. No oopses. None of that. I worked through a medically based recovery program and followed up with doing the work to change the way I process the world. I did this. Capital letter I. For you to keep going in about how I'm just a dry drunk without submitting to some higher power is offensive and damaging to people seeking sobriety for whom the AA model does not work. You stated when you started Loosid that this space was about recovery, not pushing just one method. You either need to check yourself or own up that you're just a mouthpiece for AA. Shame on you.

I am the GSR of my NA group and it really helps... I once found myself being complacent within my recovery!!! I learned very quickly that my disease will take over quickly I did not relapse with drugs but my defects of character came out rather quickly!!! The whole world needs a 12 step program not just addicts and alcoholics... I believe it should be part of high school curriculum in order for us All to learn a spiritual program

I couldn’t agree more

Honestyopen mindedness and Willingness. Read the appendix The Spiritual Experience

It’s true that the whole world could use 12 steps but that’s part of acceptance. It ain’t going to happen if you don’t absolutely have to. Living life like you can’t imagine it with or without a drink or drug is just misery.
