Loosid Sober Tip of the Day July 17

Our disease is waiting outside for us in the parking lot doing pushups.

This phrase is heard quite often when working a spiritual program of recovery to remind ourselves what is waiting for us should we ever choose to go back to our previous way of life.

We know this because, sadly, many people go out on a regular basis, and we have clear evidence what happens for those who actually make it back.

We have seen countless people come back completely shocked that their disease was as bad as it ever was and even more realize that it was infinitely worse.

Why? Because it was doing pushups waiting for us.

Here is then great news… you NEVER need to find out.

There are tens of millions of us in recovery here to walk with you on this journey together.

The journey is beautiful when we do it together. It is quite treacherous when we try it alone.

How did this tip resonate with you? Let us know your thoughts below. There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

I had almost 7 years and I started drinking again. It took me 3 years to get back and it was the hardest thing to do. I now have over 2 years :muscle:t3:

This tip resonates with me because I relapsed ten months ago. My close friend niomi was in a residential drug treatment program, she overdosed and that pain and heartache resulted in a relapse. I struggle every single day, I have cravings every day. I just try to take my mind off of it. I acknowledge the craving and not ignore it and that has been very helpful. Now I’m 10 months sober and I’m trying to work towards a career helping others with substance use disorder. I pray everyone in this community, Can get the help they need, and the strength to battle this disease.

That is so scary to hear. I pray I never do this again because I will die. Power awful alcohol always waiting. Drinking is glamorized everywhere and it gets overbearing to me. They need to show more about the affects of how it can ruin your life.

My slip ups end up with alcohol poisoning now. I had to go into detox 17 days ago. I’m done, I will not fight the past but work on the new. Recreating myself

This is so accurate! I was baffled why every relapse I experienced since going into recovery felt worse and worse. My last one was truly horrifying and I am so lucky I was given a second chance and didn’t lose my life or end up in jail. 20 days today! Finally putting in the work and ready to make this my new life and not just something I’m trying. Stay strong everyone! We are warriors, not victims :heart:
