Loosid Sober Tip of the Day July 18

Put down the bat, take out the feather.

We are often so hard on ourselves that it is no wonder why often find ourselves out of serenity.

There is a saying in recovery, “If anyone treated me the way I treat myself, I would not tolerate it.”

Today would be a great time to remind yourself to put down the bat and take out the feather.

Whether you are in the beginning of your journey or 30 years in, we must make sure we treat ourselves with dignity and grace. Be gentle on yourself today.

That's the ISM of it all and I must remember that! That's the emotional disturbance which is beyond my powers to change so I stick close to my Higher Power and my meetings! That's what changes the whole direction of my life!

Put down the bat, take out the feather....

When we are out of recovery and in the grips of our disease, grace and dignity are lost to us. This message reminds me that I am worthy of being free and worthy of something better. My sobriety allows me to be able see that and embrace the love that is waiting for me when I follow my program and reach out to those who can give me support and guidance in my journey. And in return, I can support and encourage others.

That was fantastic

I know this is true. I guess it comes from all the mistakes I made in my life. Especially, the drinking and several times quitting then just relapsing. Then, I tell people I’m quitting then they say” yea, we will see how long this time will last.” I guess it’s discouraging. But, I did it to myself. So, why should I be shocked at the lack of support.
