Loosid Sober Tip of the Day Jun 12

I NEED HELP.

These three simple words are the most powerful words in recovery.

Remember, there is no graduation date in recovery. Every day we have the ability to learn more and put more ammunition in our spiritual toolkit.

No matter the length of our sobriety, there will invariably be times that we need help.

Whether you are starting your journey, or are long into your recovery, always put yourself in a learning mindset.

The first thing you need to remember is, when you are struggling, say the three words that no addict wants to say. These are the same three words that save us one day at a time for the rest of our lives.

They are also the same three words that started us on our sober journey.

The courage in recovery comes from our ability to be vulnerable. It’s OK not to be OK.

Just for today, have the courage to ask for help if you are struggling. You will be surprised how many people are there to support you when you do.

If you are willing to give help, reach out to your sober network to see how you can be of service. We can’t keep it unless we give it away.

How did this tip resonate with you? Let us know your thoughts below. There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

I struggle to ask for help
... I guess I feel like sobriety is an inside job.
I am a head strong highly intelligent person and often can convince myself I have to be alone. I cry for someone to talk to but no one will understand . So I just keep it to myself .

Big hugs brother. I know how you feel. Just remember that you are loved. If nobody has told you today I love you!

I woke up today and did my meditation and had the same exact thoughts going thru my mind heavy and I really needed someone else to say this to me once again forever grateful and remaining humble thank you

Katie, stuffing our feelings will lead us back to a drink.
Do you have a good sponsor who thoroughly worked all 12 steps with you?
Do you attend at least 3 in-person AA meetings a week?
What is your spiritual life like?
Are you doing service work?
There’s no middle of the road for us….. WE are either working the steps in our daily lives each day or in relapse mode.
Be honest with yourself. Where are you at and are you willing to go to any lengths to stay sober?
Best wishes :pray::peace_symbol:

U can talk to me anytime. I'm sure you help others, so it's okay and fair to talk to someone else and let them help you out.
I struggle with asking for help too, and that led to relapse once, so I try to do better at asking for help now.
Please talk to me or someone else, just about what's going on. That's what we do is pay it forward, because a lot of people helped me when I needed it, so I want to return the favor

I'm here if you'd like to talk! Message me anytime. I'm very understanding. I struggle in this area as well. I'm trying to be better and build more support, too! It feels better to talk and get your feelings out.
