Loosid Sober Tip of the Day Jun 13

Our disease is waiting outside for us in the parking lot doing pushups.

This phrase is heard quite often when working a spiritual program of recovery to remind ourselves what is waiting for us should we ever choose to go back to our previous way of life.

We know this because, sadly, many people go out on a regular basis, and we have clear evidence what happens for those who actually make it back.

We have seen countless people come back completely shocked that their disease was as bad as it ever was and even more realize that it was infinitely worse.

Why? Because it was doing pushups waiting for us.

Here is then great news… you NEVER need to find out.

There are tens of millions of us in recovery here to walk with you on this journey together.

The journey is beautiful when we do it together. It is quite treacherous when we try it alone.

This is so true. I've relapsed several times. I'm determined more than ever this time. Needed the reminder of how tough addiction is. Have a blessed day, and just keep fighting.:muscle:

Holly ~ look up Annie Grace! She can totally help you to NOT relapse!!! I read 2 books by her that I borrowed for free from the library. This Naked Mind was the first one & The Alcohol Experiment was the 2nd book … both VERY enlightening!!! I downloaded her app for free on my phone called This Naked Mind Companion app where you can get support. She also has a podcast & answers reader’s questions on YouTube. Good luck!! You got this!!!:purple_heart:

We stay sober. I get drunk. Thanks to God for giving us so many wonderful people to recover with. Happy Friday! :slightly_smiling_face:

Pray , meditate, do your work

I needed to read this message today. I'm am coming up on 3 yrs in recovery and I am struggling with a decision about going to a 3day concert that my friend purchased way back in November of last year. It's music that I haven't even listened to since I got sober! It was really a large sum of money ,but is it gonna buy my sobriety? I really want to believe absolutely not but I now feel like I just may have to chalk it up no matter how much it cost money wise. I love myself today,I love my life! And I can see now that this may be a test I dont even have to take. Thank you for sharing this insite with me.
