Loosid Sober Tip of the Day Jun 26

Don’t let the gifts of recovery take you out of recovery.

When entering recovery, if we have the willingness to do whatever it takes to get sober, we find ourselves ‘on fire’ with the program. This simply means we are reaping the rewards of working the program. Often, it’s because when we enter recovery, we had the gift of desperation.

As time passes, we start to build a beautiful life. Unfortunately, for many, life seems to get a bit too full to keep working the program. We cut back on meetings, we cut back on service, we stop reaching out to others and before you know it, we relapse and have no idea why.

Everything you have built has been a result of the spiritual program you have now pulled away from.

Always remember that the same things you had to do in your first days of recovery are the same things you need to do throughout your recovery.

If you feel you have fell victim to this, the great news is you can change right here. Right now.

How did this tip resonate with you? What are the most important things you have done that got you sober that you do every day to stay sober? There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

What I do every morning when my higher power grants me another day is to thank him before my feet hit the ground and remember the first step in my mind as I’m walking to either the coffee pot or wherever needed also on awakening is a good thing to read, especially if you’re struggling or wake up with the community in your head of negativity, which is something that happens to me every so often after that I get on a meeting on my laptop and throughout the day, I think of my sponsor if she’s available or not, send her a text or call her I also reach out to a network of people that are either from the meetings or from the past that I have recovered with, and they are still recovering then I reach out to someone who is in trouble or struggling, whether it be Recovery or Life in the evenings. I thank God for another day. I also practice reading scriptures before I go to sleep the next day I do it again maybe a little different but I stay connected knowing that the first step is that keeps me grounded and teaches me that I’m an alcoholic and the meetings that I’m not alone

I am alot like you in my days it's reassuring we all have so much in common more so in Soberity & A relationship with God, have blessed day. And thank you.

This is exactly what happened to me. I recently relapsed because I was living a normal sober life and I didn't think I had to do any work and I forgot I was an alcoholic.
