Loosid Sober Tip of the Day June 13

Resentment is the #1 offender. It kills more alcoholics and addicts than anything.

We talk about resentment frequently in the daily tips for this very reason. Why? Because repetition is the mother of skill.

In the same way we need to remind ourselves what works, it is equally as powerful to remind ourselves what does not work.

Most of use reading this have a resentment or two in our back pockets. Even if we have done the work to free ourselves of resentments, so many of us hold onto a few as we feel we are not ready to let them go.

Just for today, make a decision to let them go. You are drinking the poison waiting for the other person to suffer. Choose not to suffer today.

How did this tip resonate with you? Let us know your thoughts below. There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

Very true reading. Let it go.!

This can be such a sensitive topic, and can be misunderstood in some ways as to the difference between a resentment towards someone and a resentment towards someone because we need to find it in our heart to forgive that person that did us wrong.
I know I have a few in my back pocket, I won't say probably either, and I ask my Higher power first to make me conscious of them because I think if I'm unaware I'm going to neglect what I need to "fix" and if I don't get it "fixed" then it will manifest into something ugly and something I can't control.

100 correct ….

Resentment is my number one trigger as well. Not to people so much as with situations. Although I keep working to rid myself of them more creep up. Having an awareness is key.

My favorite story in the BB is, "Freedom from Bondage". I pray for someone I resent. Works every time. Sober since 9/21/06.

I definitely have a few in my back pocket. I think it’s time to treat myself to a round of steps.
I’m only as sick as my secrets.

Great post. I need to work on my resentments as well.

Easy to say a lot easier to do if you trust that a Higher Power loves you wants you to be happy and can solve your problems.

I agree Ashley excellent insight.
