Loosid Sober Tip of the Day June 15

Moving from being sober to getting sober requires us to start working a spiritual program.

We have removed the ‘spirits’ and need to replace it with spirituality.

In 12-Step Groups, this consists of Unity (meetings and fellowship), Service (to others), and the 12 steps.

Whatever the spiritual program, you need to enter it quickly. If we sit in the seat of sobriety and not embark on a spiritual program, we will stay in pain.

If you have questions on what to do, ask in the comment section below. The Loosid community is here to help you.

If you have been sober for a while and are working a spiritual program, help the newcomers by sharing your experience below.

There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

I like the line where it says, "we have removed the spirits..."
Before I even thought about stopping drinking, my cousin, who wasn't aware I'm an alcoholic, pointed out that there's a reason why they call it spirits in a bottle, and he said, if you really think about it, it is a/spirits in a bottle but they're evil spirits, spirits to do harm and destruction, it made sense then, but at the time I still chose to ignore the signs, the writing on the wall, so on and so forth, because I was still enjoying the "spirits "
Thank God today, I'm relishing in a Godly spiritual program, and having and growing, a personal relationship with God! :pray:

“What we have is a daily reprieve contingent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition.” Page 85

My spiritual experience has grown from calling my higher power GUS- great universal Spiritual to now calling upon God to take my will and my life. The best part about the AA program is you can decide your own conception of God, higher power, creative intelligence or whatever you want! Something changed in me around month 14-18 in sobriety that I went from GUS to God and even church seeking what Jesus was talking about. Today I pray, meditate and try to improve my conscious contact with our creator-God. The blessing I have received are a direct result His will, not mine, I have a new attitude and outlook upon life. God is doing for me what I could not do for myself.

The words he spoke are so true and glad to hear other people believe that to. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

You're welcome and thanks for sharing

I'm 26 days clean and sober from meth and the needle. I'm attending meetings once a week at a church. But I was curious about the spiritual part and what it consists of

That's great that you want to know about the spiritual part. I could suggest a couple things such as, do you have sponsor as yet because they will take you through the book, your steps, and your spiritual walk with your Higher power, and the next thing I could suggest is start out your day thanking your Higher power, the universe, God, whoever and whatever you choose, just for today, such as your 20 something days clean, your in the right place with sober and clean people, your asking for help, etc. I hope this answers some of your questions or doubts.
