Loosid Sober Tip of the Day June 16

Yesterday we discussed how it feels to be sober. Today we look at what it takes to get sober.

Moving from being sober to getting sober requires us to start working a spiritual program.

We have removed the ‘spirits’ and need to replace it with spirituality.

In 12 step Groups, this consists of Unity (meetings and fellowship), Service (to others), and working the 12 steps.

Whatever the spiritual program, you need to enter it swiftly. If we sit in the seat of sobriety and not embark on a spiritual program, we will stay in pain.

There are people who stay ‘being sober’ without a spiritual program for decades and, while they are officially sober, they have not worked a spiritual program and because of this, have not had the opportunity to remove the blockages required to set them free. We often refer to these people as dry.

If you have questions on what to do, ask in the comment section below. The Loosid community is here to help you.

If you have been sober for a while and are working a spiritual program, help the newcomers by sharing your experience below.

There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

I struggled with this very thing most of my life. I was taught Jesus at a very early age. I was not open to it bc I still had my stuff I wanted. Recently i was on a table in the hospital getting a ultrasound on my gallbladder. That helpless feeling of having no control is what it took to relinquish control to God. I gave him everything in my life. My life is so different now. I encourage whoever reads this we can’t have reservations of any kind.

I have such an issue with trying to control everything in my life and find it sometimes impossible to stop my mind from creating chaos. I would love to learn how to give the things I can not control to God. Any advice?

I feel we all fall short in this area. I just keep trying to give it all to Him. The serenity prayer helps me also.

I’m going through some spiritual blockage removal this week!! Wow :open_mouth: it’s been a long week and full of emotions. Monday morning tears, Tuesday morning tears, Wednesday evening tears, today can’t seem to smile for more then a minute.
I need to look at what’s going on in my triangle… my recovery side is thin. Self care is part of recovery and I’m over working myself and not getting good sleep.. God, I pray for you to bring me a good nights rest so I can be of maximum service to you and my fellows. My faith is in your healing. Remove in shame, fear, guilt, selfishness, resentments, dishonesty and loneliness that has cropped right now. Remove all of them root and branch. I ask all of these things to glorify you and your son Christ Jesus, Amen.
