Loosid Sober Tip of the Day June 4

I NEED HELP.

These three simple words are the most powerful words in recovery.

Remember, there is no graduation date in recovery. Every day we have the ability to learn more and put more ammunition in our spiritual toolkit.

No matter the length of our sobriety, there will invariably be times that we need help.

Whether you are starting your journey, or are long into your recovery, always put yourself in a learning mindset.

The first thing you need to remember is, when you are struggling, say the three words that no addict wants to say. These are the same three words that save us one day at a time for the rest of our lives.

They are also the same three words that started us on our sober journey.

The courage in recovery comes from our ability to be vulnerable. It’s OK not to be OK.

Just for today, have the courage to ask for help if you are struggling. You will be surprised how many people are there to support you when you do.

If you are willing to give help, reach out to your sober network to see how you can be of service. We can’t keep it unless we give it away.

How did this tip resonate with you? Let us know your thoughts below. There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

Great tip. But “Ammunition” is simply a poor choice of words.

Day 2 of being sober once again and yes I thought I could do it on my own everytime I tried in the pass and if it would have worked I wouldn't be on here today... Yes, I need help

I have asked for help a few times. What’s different this time around is the gift of desperation. I was depleted. Almost homeless. However those three words, “ I need help” inevitably was the first step towards recovery. Today I will put my trust in God’s will for me. And when someone reaches out and says those three words I’ll do my best to be there.

“I need help” can sometimes be difficult to say, however my experience saying it over and over has given me freedom, friends and sobriety. I know I don’t have to travel this journey alone. Asking for help is the first step to spiritually admitting I don’t have all the answers humbling myself for a new experience and new ideas since my old ideas got me into trouble. I’m learning to rely on God and AA. :kissing_heart::kissing_heart:

Day 1 for me as well but I really think this forum is going to help. It is the first time I have had hope
