Loosid Sober Tip of the Day March 04

Compare and despair.

Yesterday, we talked about how important it is to identify with the feelings and never to compare stories.

Comparing ourselves to others is a trap that too many people in recovery find themselves.

When we compare ourselves to others, we lose sight of the entire reason why we are in recovery… to connect with likeminded others who share our common bond.

Comparison is the death of happiness. We must look toward others with hope and, for those who may be sicker than others, we must choose empathy.

When we compare, we either feel worse about ourselves or we feel better than others. Self-pity or ego. Either path is the wrong path.

Make a commitment today to not compare yourself to others. You are exactly where you need to be.

At times it’s still an issue with me. However I’m aware of it these days. TY my HP🙏

Comparing is what I do, I say I am not that bad, I never did that and then I find myself entertaining thoughts that I am not an alcoholic… it is at this point I remind myself of all that I did do and where drinking got me… some days it is easier than others but for today I am just going to not pick up the first drink! Ty for this!

Humility is what is needed to relate to others. Are we better than they we think not. This program is one day at a time service, unity and recovery. We need each other which is unity only then is recovery possible. Together we stand divided we fall. May God be with us along this journey.

I need this reminder every day. I'm constantly comparing when I'm on autopilot.
Comparison is the thief of joy.

IAM learning to not compare my insides to others outsides..I'm over 3 years clean and sober. I'll be at a meeting and someone will share and I think "wow,do they get it"and then find out their like 3months C&S, and alot of times their gone next week..

I'm aware but still guilty
