Loosid Sober Tip of the Day March 04

Yesterday we discussed how it feels to be sober. Today we look at what it takes to get sober.

Moving from being sober to getting sober requires us to start working a spiritual program.

We have removed the ‘spirits’ and need to replace it with spirituality.

In 12 step Groups, this consists of Unity (meetings and fellowship), Service (to others), and working the 12 steps.

Whatever the spiritual program, you need to enter it swiftly. If we sit in the seat of sobriety and not embark on a spiritual program, we will stay in pain.

There are people who stay ‘being sober’ without a spiritual program for decades and, while they are officially sober, they have not worked a spiritual program and because of this, have not had the opportunity to remove the blockages required to set them free. We often refer to these people as dry.

If you have questions on what to do, ask in the comment section below. The Loosid community is here to help you.

If you have been sober for a while and are working a spiritual program, help the newcomers by sharing your experience below.

There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

Humbly by and through AA and God (who I met while actually working/walking through the steps) with my sponsor. I have a Spiritual life/program. The big book really does describe a simple straight forward set of prayers followed by action steps. pg.s 58-64 specifically 62-64 will show you steps 3 & 4.
A sponsor who has been guided through the steps will have a "spark" and the very real ability to physically show you each step and explain their experience of walking thru it. We have many great slogans but "it works if you work it" is specific. It's these actual steps to a freedom we so Hunger for...You can get "it" I promise!

My story was court mandated. I had to go to meetings I thought the people in the rooms were crazy that it was a cult and I hated you and was irritated because y’all were laughing and I said y’all are fake people Well I’m her to tell you I was wrong so wrong. My spo was said if you don’t get it. Fake it til you make. Feeling the spiritual feeling. So I did. I faked an lied my way through the steps. Until I came to believe that there truly was a power greater than myself. Having a spiritual awakening was my down. It’s was amazing. Having a sponsor to hear all my BS and working and guiding me making suggestions to work my way through the steps. Staying clean n sober is the best thing that’s ever happened in my life. It was One day at a time. Trusting the process and listening to suggestions from someone other than myself. I pray every morning. I spend time with God daily it’s a must. I ask for direction in my life and for God to do his will not mine. That I do faithfully 7 days a week. I do meetings online/ outside meetings 7 days a week. I’m of service to the AA community I’m a Secretary on Tuesday at my home group. I’m Secretary at a NA Meeting also my home group on Tuesday as well. So doing the next right thing is what I get to do. I hope and pray :pray: that I reached you in some kind of way. Focus on the here and now. Breath remember you have a lot of support don’t give up. Yes I too know what it’s like to struggle. I’m the first to say the struggle is real !! … but if you really want to be clean and sober you have to do the work. It’s your choice!! Good luck in your sobriety it works if you work it!!!:pray::purple_heart:
