Loosid Sober Tip of the Day March 14

Creating and maintaining an attitude of gratitude.

One of the most powerful tools we learn in a spiritual program of recovery is gratitude.

It is also something that, at first, is very hard to see, as many of us tend to gravitate to the negative and get stuck in self-pity.

Creating a context switch to think what we are grateful for takes us out of self-pity and shifts our thinking into the amazing opportunities and possibilities that lie ahead.

If you have connected with a sober network, you will often find that many of them send out gratitude lists each and every day.

It is a way of giving hope to ourselves as well as to others.

If you are not part of a gratitude group, connect with members below and write down what you are grateful for.

At Loosid, here is what we are grateful for today:

We are grateful to have a platform of likeminded others who share a common bond and help one another on a daily basis.

We are grateful that you read the daily sober tips to better yourself each and every day.

If you are new or just exploring the benefits of sobriety, we are grateful for your courage to ask questions and explore new possibilities.

If you have been sober for a while, we are grateful for setting a great power of example for people who are new and need help.

We are also grateful that you continue to practice a spiritual program every day as we cannot live today on yesterday’s sobriety.

Now, your turn…

What are you grateful for?

Share your gratitude list below.

There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

As a reminder, be sure to connect with others who are posting below and in the feed to grow your sober network. You will never know when you need them, but one thing is for sure… you will need them as we cannot do this alone.

Alone we are powerless, together, there is nothing we can’t accomplish.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

My gratitude list is too long to list, but most recently sober support, my sober coach and the endless possibilities of today and the future.

I am grateful that we have our higher power, spiritual support, or in my life, the dear Lord that has been my connection for the very most part. Prayer, patience, hope, faith, guidance and so much more can only come from one when you don't have others. At least 100% to count on!

I am grateful that I woke up today sober and didn’t have to apologize or cry for my terrible behavior the night before! I am grateful I have a loving mom and others who believe in me! I am thankful to become spiritually equipped in my journey to remain sober. I am thankful for Loosid and all of your stories and positivity that inspire me and keep me moving on up! Bless you all!

I’d like to share my morning Gratitude list with everyone.
Good morning God, today I will let you into my life to help guide me through this day. I’m grateful for my Higher Power, my son, my sobriety, my health, my wealth, my family, my friends, AA as a whole, my sponsor, the warm shower, warm bed, the clothes on my back, the shoes on my feet, the food I get to eat, the truck I get to drive, my job, and the Holy Bible. (These change from day to day as it’s all about being in the moment)
Next I go into my prayer list:
I pray for my son, to continue to learn, complete his schoolwork, to seek Jesus. I pray for my Mom and Dad to heal, to forgive and to live a joyous life. I pray for my cousins and my Grandma. I pray for my brother to heal, to forgive his father and to love and live a joyous life. I pray for my ex-wife to heal from the pain I caused her, to forgive me and to continue to take care of our son. I pray for those who still suffer in and out of the rooms of recovery, I pray that God will been instilled into their lives and give them the courage to make that decision to turn their life over to him.
Then I’ll go on with what I’m planning for the day or what’s on my mind at that moment.
I can say when I miss a few days in a row I begin to feel very off of my program. What’s cool about the program all we have to do is grab a pen and paper and write down our gratitude list. It’s doesn’t have to be in the morning. I’ve missed my morning list and picked up that evening when I do my daily reprieve. Sometimes I’ll just stop in the busyness of the day and text my sponsor a few things I’m grateful for. It’s this action that keeps me on track.
Stay sober my friends! All we have is today. Don’t drink or use today.

Grateful that I'm sober. I'm able to learn things now that I am sober. Grateful to God for giving me a chance to live life without the use of drugs.
