Loosid Sober Tip of the Day March 19

The war is over… if you want it to be.

Millions of us have fought our alcoholism or addiction tooth and nail, refusing to admit defeat. We think THIS time, somehow, and in some way, we will be able to stop.

It works… until it doesn’t.

We try again... We slip… So we try again.

Sometimes we put a week together. Sometimes a month… some of us a year or more until it happens AGAIN.

We swear one final time to God, to our wives, our husbands, our significant others, our mothers, our fathers, our children, our friends, our entire universe that we will never ever ever drink or use again… until we do.

We swear again one more final time… then another final time… then another.

What you need to know is that alcoholism and addiction is undefeated.

The only way to win is to surrender.

This is where so many of us lose the battle because to us, to surrender means to lose and our egos simply will not allow that.

Take solace in the fact that the entire program of recovery teaches us to surrender each and every day to our powerlessness over drugs or substances SO THAT WE WIN.

The war is over… if you want it to be.

I have surrendered and have given my life over to God staying busy learning so much about myself and what and how the program works they teach you a day at a time breathe and live they teach you to stay positive and not every day is an easy day but its always a day given we receive learning lessons through keeping an open mind an understanding and an open heart the tools you need in order to become successful and be able to work on ourselves I’m learning it’s not about perfection embracing growth and sharing with others so they may find there way trusting the process of is a beautiful way of living thank you for another day I hope everyone has a wonderful day :sparkles::blush:

I put 8 years of sobriety together till I relapsed. 7 years of drinking and went back into the program 140 days ago. Trying to give back and participate more. It's not all about me.

For the first time in my life,31 months of staying out of the way. I am done,God's will and not my own. I love this way of life, waking up to other people celebrating their lives. Thank You Jesus

Thanks for the love, I pray that I can be a good member to newcomers, because what you shared inspired me so much!!!
