Loosid Sober Tip of the Day March 26

How do we get back our self- esteem?

This is a very common question with a very simple answer.

In our active addiction, self-esteem is one of the first things to go. How do we gain back our self-esteem? By doing esteemable acts.

Focus each day to doing an esteemable act. Reach out to a friend who you know is struggling and simply let them know you are thinking about them and they are not alone.

Go up to a homeless person an offer to buy them a cup of coffee or sandwich if you can afford it.

Ask the cashier at the store their name. Wish them a great day.

We tend to severely underestimate the power of simply recognizing a person and acknowledging them as an equal. Why? Because we are all equal.

Little acts of self-esteem will build momentum. Before you know it, you will be beaming with self-esteem.

How did this tip resonate with you? What are 3 esteemable acts you can do today?

Let us know your thoughts below. There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

That is a great idea! Will do that today! Thx!!

I compliment people if I like what they're wearing or whatever just pointing out something that looks nice and keep walking by, that got me comfortable to talk to anyone and pick my head up from walking around looking down

Hold a door open, return your shopping cart back to the store, buy someone their lunch.
I’ve changed the way I view society thanks to AA’s 12 steps. I’m not afraid to speak in public, to hello to a stranger or have a meaningful conversation with a store clerk or a random person in a lobby. People need to be heard. Let them talk. Be an ear not an A55

For me to start to redeem my self esteem was to do what I say and say what I do. Also showing up. Making myself do things. Adding discipline and not adding so much so quick that I allow myself an excuse to not do what I said I would do!!

Random acts of kindness. So simple! I’ll check in tonight and share

Kindness everyday

My self esteem was shot until I gave up running my life and lined up all my actions with spiritual principles on a daily basis, and it took awhile to get where I am today which is about 50% but I'm making progress. I listen to powerful messages about the promises that are offered if you truly surrender to a power greater than yourself and deny your self, your own ideas that are not aligned with the spiritual.......Let principles.. new friends, new associations, no relationship in the beggining because I don't even no the new me. Plus I need to learn how to rely on God first, then me, then another human being in that order:fist:t5::heart::100::clapper::pray:t4:
