Loosid Sober Tip of the Day May 24

Put down the bat, take out the feather.

We are often so hard on ourselves that it is no wonder why often find ourselves out of serenity.

There is a saying in recovery, “If anyone treated me the way I treat myself, I would not tolerate it.”

Today would be a great time to remind yourself to put down the bat and take out the feather.

Whether you are in the beginning of your journey or 30 years in, we must make sure we treat ourselves with dignity and grace. Be gentle on yourself today.

This sober tip really got to me bc since I've had my own apartment at the beginning of this month, I've relapsed a few times and made horrible choices bc I was drunk/ high that I've been beating myself up about ever since... Like how much of an idiot I am for choosing free drugs over a really amazing guy that had just came back into my life out of the blue and that I got to spend a few days getting to know n really liked him but I have no self control when I'm drinking and getting high n I made the wrong choice.... Needless to say he broke it off with me that morning and walked out without even saying goodbye BC I was so messed up I couldn't even talk to him or tell him how I felt like a complete idiot for what I did n tell him I was sorry for what I did but explain to him why I get that way when I drink especially.... So I've been mentally beating myself up ever since n I'm bad for doing that, tbh I'm my own worst critic at times but I'm starting to get better as time passes... slowly but surely I'll get back on top!!
