Loosid Sober Tip of the Day May 24

Learning to love ourselves is one of the hardest challenges we face when entering a spiritual program of recovery.

So many of us look at the harm we have done and think that it is impossible we will ever get to a point to right our wrongs.

Many more amongst us think we do not deserve to get better.

Just for today, give yourself the gift of recognizing your accomplishments.

No matter who you are, you took two very big steps today.

You opened Loosid to get help… and you read a tip to get advice and guidance.

Sadly, there are millions of people on this very day who are stuck in denial and refuse to accept the possibility that they need help, and for this reason they didn’t take any steps.

Take one more step today… walk over to your mirror and look at yourself and say, “I’m proud of you.”

Why? Because you should be.

How did this tip resonate with you? Let us know your thoughts below. There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

This is definitely the hardest thing for me to do but on the days that I don’t get down on myself are the days that I best serve others and am far more useful in general. I pray for the strength to accept myself and be positive and proud of myself everyday. Today I will live in the moment and be my best self. Today I will honor myself with the help of my higher power.

I am currently 7 1/2 years sober and hit what I consider the first bottom in recovery . I haven’t drank , but I have allowed other things to distract me from staying in the clear present mindset with my higher power, which for me is God and Jesus. Worry , fear , and self doubt have crept back into my mind and need to rid myself of the stinking thinking . I need to stay out of self and allow God to lead me in the direction that is right for me ! I need to feel proud and know “with God all things are possible!”

Much needed today!

I do that too. I am having trouble staying focused on the central truths of AA, the fulcrum of step three. It is easy to do for me with ADHD which btw becomes worse when we age. Knowing the problem means it’s half solved, now I use the group, readings prayer and meditation to assist in my tendency to be distracted, but it’s up to me to accept this fact that I’m born this way and can’t change it nor will it away. God in his omnipotent way has a better plan for me than I can possibly imagine.

I really needed to read this today. I’m grateful to the loosid community and the creator of the loosid app.
