Loosid Sober Tip of the Day May 25

Identify, don’t compare.

When we come into a spiritual program of recovery, many of us will find that we compare our stories with others.

We may feel we have not reached the desperate levels others have or, alternatively, we may look at our stories and think that we have had a much rougher time.

It is not our job to take the inventory of others.

It is very important never to compare stories, but rather identify with the feelings.

Look for the similarities, not the differences.

When we focus on similarities, we will invariably find them.

I don’t compare the stories with mine, but I do learn from their stores I thank God for this program

Totally I have found a lot of judgement and criticism in the rooms of AA in particular and I can’t stand that. So annoying, but me on the other hand find everyone’s story interesting. All the variances of how people get to the point of enough is enough and the age that people become alcoholic or otherwise. I find it bewildering how sometimes it hits people so late in the game. Like how the the heck do some have these super successful lives and then bam :boom: they lose their mind…fascinating.
