Loosid Sober Tip of the Day May 27

FEAR. False evidence appearing real.

Fear is something that seems to rip through many of our lives. In 12- Step literature, they call it an evil and corroding thread and should be classified in the category of stealing.

There is much truth to this, as fear only resides in the future and we do not know whether any of what we think may happen will ever materialize.

Fear very much fits in the category of stealing and it robs us of the one thing we can never get back… TIME.

Think about how much time you have been afraid of something that has never happened. How much time was spent in those fears?

Choose not to lose any more time. Make a decision to take advantage of the present. That’s all we have. All we ever will have,

How did this tip resonate with you? Let us know your thoughts below. There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

So true. I will.!!

First and foremost, the adversary is only here, on this earth, around us to steal, kill and destroy! It makes sense he would use fear as his tool to do his job. Easier said than done, but it is our job to have faith knowing that our Higher power, mine God is greater than fear, greater than everything even the adversary and believing in our hearts that we will overcome with faith! That's one of the biggest, main, reason, I know I'm sober today is by of my spiritual walk and belief with God, without Him, there's no way I could do this, and don't get mewrong it's not perfect, it will never be, but sometimes He carries me through so I can overcome my fears!
I love the acronym abt fear, it's so true!

I would offer that we all have the ability to turn the negative connotation of FEAR on its head… take it back by empowering ourselves to Feel Excited And Ready (FEAR) to walk forward within your respective sober fellowship and network into a clean and sober life. :innocent:

Here’s a God shot for me; my sponsee and I were just talking about fear last night as we read into action steps 9 through 11. It was blissfully beautiful to this person have a spiritual experience while reading the big book and talk about fears and how crippling they can be.
I can say that the fear I had and still have play a huge role in my life. They stop me in my tracks. I become miserable when I’m fearful. Sometimes I don’t even think of my misery as being fearful. Today I will ask God to remove any fear from my life so that I can be of maximum service to Him and my fellows.

It is so true I have a lot of fears this is a gentle reminder that I am not doing what is in front of me as the fear will block me from what God has for me today.

It’s true, I have spent years probably…. Fearing things that never happened. I am going to read this message everyday.

My goal for this year is to run towards my fears and challenge myself to new experiences.

This resonates with me so much. Getting honest with myself is hard enough. Facing those I love so deeply and getting honest with the ? That’s going to be the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my life.
