Loosid Sober Tip of the Day November 06

Hitting rock bottom.

Many people talk about having to reach rock bottom before coming into a spiritual program of recovery.

But how do we know we have reached rock bottom?

The answer is simply when we decide to stop digging.

It is not necessary that we lose everything. It is not necessary to lose our job, lose our families, or lose our home.

We do not even need to decide whether or not we have a problem.

All that is needed is a desire to stop drinking (or drugging).

We often come to the realization that we have a problem once we are able to identify with others and hear their problems.

It is at this point that we look further into a spiritual journey of recovery. Though our experiences are different, the feelings of isolation and the need to get out of the now are the same.

It took me while to figure that l had hit rock bottom my thoughts were im not the problem it was you telling me I needed help my mind set was so polluted with denial that why it took me a long time to recover nut today thank to my higher power of a God of my own understanding im cleane today

If you know or even think you have a problem with drinking or drugs, Please get some help. Most of us can't get better by ourselves. We need support. The worst thing we can do is wait and hope it gets better. That's how people die from this. Don't wait!

Well I definitely knew I'd hit rock bottom because I did lose everything; first it was my kids then my house and I was living on the street and doing things I said I would never do then I lost my vehicle I lost even who I was; And, I was so full of fear... But today I am so grateful to God, AA, my church and Celebrate Recovery that I have four years clean today and I am never going back
