Loosid Sober Tip of the Day November 18

Much like we must learn how to handle resentment on a daily basis, we must also do the same with fear.

In recovery, there are a few strong acronyms we use for fear. One concentrates how we often let something that has not yet happened and may never happen run our lives.

F-E-A-R.

False expectations appearing real.

We have discussed this quite a bit and now if we are to live a life of serenity, we must learn to avoid worrying about the future, in the same way we can never regret the past.

There is another beautiful, very powerful acronym for fear.

F-E-A-R.

Face everything and recover.

This is the key to the kingdom. So many of us do not want to lean in and look into what it is that is causing our fear.

The truth is, leaning in and facing everything is uncomfortable.

It is also true that facing everything and going through that level of discomfort is the only thing that allows us to get to the other side.

In 12-Step programs, this is done in our inventory in steps 4 & 5, and in our amends steps, which are 8 & 9.

Just for today, be open to the possibility of facing everything that is blocking you.

You owe it to yourself the gift of a beautiful life.

I really resonate with today's tip of the day. Fear has held me back in life. Fear to me (fck everything and run) is what I did in the past, especially during my active addiction. I am a runner, and what do I do when sht hits the fan, RUNNN. In my recovery, I am learning what my fears are and facing them head-on. I am only human, I make mistakes, but what I do with those mistakes, what I learn from mistakes, well that is what will teach me and build me up to a better person. Training myself to get through my fears. Really liked this tip. TY

I have been talking about fear, the first one for me of fear is forgiving self the main reason I started, forgelf self do not hold onto something that I couldn't help others with. Alcohol abuse and yes substance abuse, and what got them into trouble and has either over dosed or alcohol poisoning or just got themselves into trouble, into a harmful way of oweing or pay back or etc, wrong crowd at the wrong time. Debts can't always be paid off in money. I was in a black hole, I got out, I forgave myself and others and walked out, in the process of healing. I am grateful to be alive and here in the present. I thank our higher power, :pray:t3: my support system and also loosid, there are quite a few social apps I can thank but I didn't win any award I just won another day. Another 24 hours, God bless. O'siem :pray:t3:
