Loosid Sober Tip of the Day November 7

Do you want to be right, or do you want to be free?

In recovery, we often hear the words irritable, restless and discontent. One of the biggest blockages that keeps us in this state is holding onto past resentments or ‘justified anger.’

The problem is, until you can release the resentment, you will never be free. Justified or not.

Resentment is very much like you drinking the poison and waiting for the other party to suffer.

Letting go of your resentment is the key to your freedom.

Will you have to do some work to get there? Absolutely. There are is a spiritual path waiting for you to help to get you to the other side.

There is no value in being right at the expense of your freedom.

Choose to be free today. Why? Because you deserve it.

This was amazing and eye opening. Thank you!!

Resentment is very much like you drinking the poison and waiting for the other part to suffer—— so crazy because this is what I do when I’m upset or don’t feel as if I’m being heard or cared about in the end I’m the one who suffers while the other party remains free

Gm. This is one of the keys to sobriety. AA teaches us to let go of resentments. Holding on to these can cause you to drink. We cannot pick up no matter what.
Things get better one day at a time. I just celebrated 10 years of sobriety taking it one day at a time.

ARS ~ congratulations on 10 years!!. I resent the fact that my ex-boyfriend owes me $20k & I don’t know how I’m going to forgive that because it’s a LOT of money, especially for me who makes low wages in childcare 🥲

Love the fourth paragraph, it’s so true, I related very much with that paragraph

Holding on to resentment to me keeps me angry inside so I am a very forgiving person not for the other person but for myself cuz I forgive not forget and move on and I try not to live in the past. People make mistakes nobody is perfect so I just think if u live in the past that your always going to be angry that’s why I forgive and move on.
