Loosid Sober Tip of the Day November 8

Don’t let the gifts of recovery take you out of recovery.

When entering recovery, if we have the willingness to do whatever it takes to get sober, we find ourselves ‘on fire’ with the program. This simply means we are reaping the rewards of working the program. Often, it’s because when we enter recovery, we had the gift of desperation.

As time passes, we start to build a beautiful life. Unfortunately, for many, life seems to get a bit too full to keep working the program. We cut back on meetings, we cut back on service, we stop reaching out to others and before you know it, we relapse and have no idea why.

Everything you have built has been a result of the spiritual program you have now pulled away from.

Always remember that the same things you had to do in your first days of recovery are the same things you need to do throughout your recovery.

If you feel you have fell victim to this, the great news is you can change right here. Right now.

How did this tip resonate with you? What are the most important things you have done that got you sober that you do every day to stay sober? There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

I read this every morning and reflect on it. I hit a meeting M-F @ 8am. I’m on sober grid throughout the day. I get on the discord chat each nite. Also program work throughout the week. That’s all day. Ery day! Be a beast about your sobriety

Great message!

Amen! That is exactly what happened to me when I relapsed.... I got to busy with work, to tired to go to meetings, to tired to answer a call or text. And what happened.... I hit it hard... My ROCK BOTTOM! I lost yet another job and my car.... Today, I have been sober for 122 DAYS! My sobriety date is 07-09-2021 and only by the Grace and Mercy of God and my AA family and my :o: circle.

Well, I have my idea why. It is a very different viewpoint. Maybe some will think I'm making excuses, however...no, an actual reason.
I did find myself building a new life beautiful to me and most importantly, spiritual considering I was giving of myself "100 %". However, I found that as time went on that I was not the one who pulled away. Life seems to just happen. Just as my plans were reaching my expectations...COVID hit and I suffered a huge hit that I was not "in any way" prepared for. That said. Nor was anyone else...so my support system failed and so did I. For a minute. Then again, I had to pull up my boot straps, pray, work hard, and just do what it takes because of one thing...IT'S WHY THE GOOD LORD GAVE US LIFE SO WE CAN LIVE. Rethink your day and make it totally opposite from your worst day then reflect on just how that truly made you feel about yourself.
