Loosid Sober Tip of the Day October 08

Don’t let the gifts of recovery take you out of recovery.

When entering recovery, if we have the willingness to do whatever it takes to get sober, we find ourselves ‘on fire’ with the program. This simply means we are reaping the rewards of working the program. Often, it’s because when we enter recovery, we had the gift of desperation.

As time passes, we start to build a beautiful life. Unfortunately, for many, life seems to get a bit too full to keep working the program. We cut back on meetings, we cut back on service, we stop reaching out to others and before you know it, we relapse and have no idea why.

Everything you have built has been a result of the spiritual program you have now pulled away from.

Always remember that the same things you had to do in your first days of recovery are the same things you need to do throughout your recovery.

If you feel you have fell victim to this, the great news is you can change right here. Right now.

How did this tip resonate with you? What are the most important things you have done that got you sober that you do every day to stay sober? There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

I wake up every morning and the first thing that I do once I've made my coffee etc., is to open this app. I read the tips, do the daily check-ins and fill out my gratitude list and journal. It has been very beneficial for me, I don't always have the opportunity to make it to meetings very easily, and this is my resource....which I often find even more beneficial than some of the meetings. It's better for me, personally at times to not be bothered by some of the nuances that go along w meetings.. And it is part of a routine that I have stuck with which also helps me greatly.

Well I now have four years sober and there have been weeks that I go the whole length of without going to an AA meeting but I never miss my silver recovery meeting or my church and I always make sure I spend that time reading my Bible and spending time in prayer with God so that I don't ever go back to that door dark place in my meth and alcohol to me too

I still wake up and thank God for another sober day. In my first days of recovery, I just had this strong conviction if I let God fight that battle for me from the beginning, I was sure to stay sober all day. That still stands true today. And, I too, open the app and read the tip of the day. I haven't posted a lot, but my fiancee was here and we discussed things. He recently got his CDl and is now gone. So I'm posting and interacting more.

I'm going through this right now! Life isn't bad, but I haven't been to a meeting or spoke with my sponsor in a while. I'm not going to the gym or church like I used to. I catch myself making excuses about everything. I'm slightly worried where things are headed. This app is one of the few things keeping me on track.

The same things I did to get sober will keep me sober. It works. Keep It Simple :pray:
