Loosid Sober Tip of the Day October 13

FEAR. False evidence appearing real.

Fear is something that seems to rip through many of our lives. In 12- Step literature, they call it an evil and corroding thread and should be classified in the category of stealing.

There is much truth to this, as fear only resides in the future and we do not know whether any of what we think may happen will ever materialize.

Fear very much fits in the category of stealing and it robs us of the one thing we can never get back… TIME.

Think about how much time you have been afraid of something that has never happened. How much time was spent in those fears?

Choose not to lose any more time. Make a decision to take advantage of the present. That’s all we have. All we ever will have,

How did this tip resonate with you? Let us know your thoughts below. There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

I used to spend all of my time worrying. Which was one reason why I wanted to be high all of the time, I wasn't worrying as much...I would go from one worry to the next and as soon as I figured out that problem that was causing anxiety and worry, I'd go on to the very next. I had a list of worries catalogued in my mind that I would try to "fix" and make better and then move on to the next... It was a vicious never ending cycle and I was miserable doing this for years and years. Today I don't worry about anything really. I have very few fears, if any at all. It is such a freeing feeling.

I've been sober 2.5 years and this is a tough battle, seemingly oversimplified here as something to turn off. It is not immediate - it is a gradual, daily effort. Progress through action.

It's baked so deeply into instincts (fight or flight) that I disagree equating it to stealing.
