Loosid Sober Tip of the Day October 13

There is a stigma that when you get sober, life, as we know it, will be the end of fun.

This stigma could not be further from the truth. In fact, it is quite the opposite.

When we put down the drink or drug and decide to live life on life’s terms, the world opens up for us.

One of the first things we realize is how much of life was wasted on our time drinking or putting substances in our body. Just a few hours a day for happy hour during the week, turns into 40 extra hours a month of quality time.

That could be taking time to learn a new skill, spending more time with your family, working out, meditating, volunteering to help those in need, the list is endless.

Take a few moments to reflect on how many hours were spent each week on drinking or putting substances in your body. If you are just starting out, get excited, as you are about to enter a world of more time to build incredible experiences.

If you have been sober a while, let us know what you have done since you stopped wasting these precious hours days and years that make up this thing we have called life.

How did this tip resonate with you? Let us know your thoughts below. There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

Wow this is so true I wasted countless hours a day drinking it’s a shame the time and memories I lost

It is what u make it!

This is so true!! I’m 86 days sober from alcohol and the energy, mental stability and overall happiness I have now is indescribable! I’m able to actually live life and do projects, exercise and not be hungover everyday. I was extremely tired everyday because of drinking the day before and now; I look forward to each new day to see what I’m able to accomplish and that in itself is an amazing feeling!!

Celebrating 6 months of sobriety today this is a good time for me to reflect on the progress in the progress that I've made in living on life's terms. I'm so happy. I have new friends. And I've regained a good deal of my perspective on how small I am and how big God is. My calm is what stands out the most to me I'm able to stop here. And consider all the good things and enjoy them with good feelings of gratitude.

100% true! I’ve been sober 10 years and my bank account has never looked so good. And it keeps getting better every year. It’s a wonderful life.

Very true, I never realized that time of me being "wasted" was time I was wasting!!

Reassigned time to training. Now compete in power lifting events and terrain races.

I've found that after 7 months sober I have more time to enjoy. I was a functional addict now 40 hours at work seems to fly by. Not losing nights by drinking and some days to hangovers adds to my personal time. I have more energy to focus on improving my self along the journey. I get to enjoy little things like the feel of sunshine on my face walking through the pine trees in the sierra Nevada's. I also seem to be managing stress better. Life still has highs and lows but they aren't as high or no where near as low. I'm a lot more Zen now. It truly is a day at a time .

Countless hundreds of wasted hours drinking alone at home. Happy that is no longer the case.
