Loosid Sober Tip of the Day September 13

In unity there is strength.

Whether you are entering recovery for the first time or have been in recovery for a while, it is always important to always keep in mind that, on our own, we are in big trouble.

Alcoholism and addiction are diseases of isolation and it is imperative that you connect with others who are on the same journey.

Why? Because you need to know that you are not alone. There are millions of people who share the same common bond as you.

Though all of our experiences may be different, the feelings of isolation and needing to get of the now remain the same.

Take the time today to connect with others who are on this journey with you. Once you do, you will never be alone again.

In unity there is strength. Alone we are nothing. Together, there is nothing we cannot achieve.

How did this tip resonate with you? Let us know your thoughts below. There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

Great point i must do this .

I have always been a loner, the quiet reserved type that people usually call "aloof". Past attempts at recovery I didn't connect with people, I felt alienated and worried that nobody would accept me. This time I have realized I have to open myself up and make an effort to find people to connect with, not just more experienced folks to help me out and guide me, but also less experienced people to offer my experience, strength, and hope. I made some friends in detox that I keep in touch with now that I'm in residential, and I have made inroads with a group that I know from the meetings I go to. I have a roommate who is much younger who really looks up to me and through him I have really felt the meaning of that old saying "in order to keep it we have to give it away" My efforts are really paying off and I feel a stronger connection to the recovery community than ever before and that gives me strength. Don't try and do this alone, we are all in this fight together!

Unite as a sober community and scare addiction straight. That’s my experience.

Agreed! :100:
