Action, Reaction and Inaction.

We often think we are responsible for our actions.

Remember, at any time, we are responsible for three things: Our actions, our reactions and our inactions.

Ironically, inaction is often the most powerful.

This may mean restraint of pen and tongue by not sending that nasty text, email or phone response to someone who hurt you.

It may also mean sitting quietly with yourself and observing your thoughts and settling your mind.

Actions and reactions are very powerful as well.

Write down your actions, reactions and inactions from the last day. Then take an inventory to see what inactions were not useful and should have been acted upon.

Do the same for actions and reactions. You will get better each day. It just takes a bit of practice.

I appreciate this topic because actions (inactions, reactions) are the most fluid, powerful, and definitive language we communicate with. We very much should use them wisely

The other day, I let my pride and ego take over God’s. My response to what another employee was doing nor didn’t show up with his tools caused him to react very negatively and with violent emotions. Then I too reacted towards his action even more negative.
He left the job site mad. I too was mad. I sat down on the hillside for about 10 minutes then went back to work. I began to play the resentment tape justifying my action and reactions to this situation. Then something happened and I had a shift in thought. Like a paradigm shift. I asked God what I should do to make this right. I then had the thought to call him and apologize for my action and reactions. I called him and left a message. I apologized for my actions. I told him call me back when he’s ready to talk about it. And that I love him!
The next morning I sent him a daily affirmation. He then sent his apology to me via text.
Now this situation has been resolved within 48 hours. I don’t have to harbor anymore resentment or have this take up space in my head.
I can see where my fault was in this situation and I can see that my inaction would have best suited this situation in the beginning. I also didn’t have G0d in my thoughts. It was solely on my will. We are sick people. We ask our fellow humans how can I help. Instead of how can I get something.
Applying the principles of the program to my daily life even when I’m at fault to correct a situation is how I want to live. The steps work for all humans. For all aspects of life.
