Loosid Sober Tip of the Day September 28

Do you want to be right, or do you want to be free?

In recovery, we often hear the words irritable, restless and discontent. One of the biggest blockages that keeps us in this state is holding onto past resentments or ‘justified anger.’

The problem is, until you can release the resentment, you will never be free. Justified or not.

Resentment is very much like you drinking the poison and waiting for the other party to suffer.

Letting go of your resentment is the key to your freedom.

Will you have to do some work to get there? Absolutely. There are is a spiritual path waiting for you to help to get you to the other side.

There is no value in being right at the expense of your freedom.

Choose to be free today. Why? Because you deserve it.

I will work on this.!

Another great tip!

Great tip. Resentment only hurts those who hold it.

That’s easy to say

I’m 96 days sober and I still been holding onto some resentments and what I think is justified anger. It’s been weighing on my mind heavy lately and this is a great tip because honestly until I let go absolutely I won’t be free. This is something that I’m currently working on

Soo true! You hurt yourself only no one else!

I don’t know

I’m reminded that I’m a sick person and maybe I take pleasure in hurting myself by holding onto resentments. I ask God for help to show me a better way to live so that I may recover from my alcoholism.

I am not sure if I am understanding this one. My biggest resentment is my own drinking and my withdrawal from living. I know this and know I have work to do to live fully. I am not trying to hang on to the shoulda woulda coulda. It’s time to move forward I’ve been stuck for a long time.

Absolutely!! I think many of us drink because we are feeling this way !!
