Loosid Sober Tip of the Day September 29

Yesterday we discussed how it feels to be sober. Today we look at what it takes to get sober.

Moving from being sober to getting sober requires us to start working a spiritual program.

We have removed the ‘spirits’ and need to replace it with spirituality.

In 12 step Groups, this consists of Unity (meetings and fellowship), Service (to others), and working the 12 steps.

Whatever the spiritual program, you need to enter it swiftly. If we sit in the seat of sobriety and not embark on a spiritual program, we will stay in pain.

There are people who stay ‘being sober’ without a spiritual program for decades and, while they are officially sober, they have not worked a spiritual program and because of this, have not had the opportunity to remove the blockages required to set them free. We often refer to these people as dry.

If you have questions on what to do, ask in the comment section below. The Loosid community is here to help you.

If you have been sober for a while and are working a spiritual program, help the newcomers by sharing your experience below.

There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

God great

I may have needed to read this two days in a row!! This is about the extent of the sober networking I got going on. I have only probably been to a handful of meetings since I left rehab. My schedule with work and the kids' schedules with their schools my windows of opportunity are super slim. And it's really wearing on me. I would love to find a 24 hour virtual group where they have meetings every hour on the hour. So if anyone has any info

Zoom meetings are probably your best bet if you can’t get to an in person meeting.

I think that would also be helpful due to my sleep problems at this time. A group of people willing to commit to hourly virtual hourly meetings here on this site would be cool. If o e could pick a time to commit to a talk therapy session it may work. Ir a recorded share session my also be am option. I'm not sure what can be offered/permitted from a "share type" if you will though. Just a thought.

Yes yes yes! A spiritual program is a must for me to begin and maintain this new personality change I’ve gone through as well as ever expanding on. This universe we live in is full of the unknown. Spirituality in my book is one that is barely talked about or know about. I can say when I became willing, just willing to except spiritually my life began to shift. I picked up a few books on the topic. Change my life forever. One of the books I picked up was in a recycling can right on top. Something told me to walk over there and look at those books… it wasn’t about 1 year later that I actually took the book off of my shelf and read it.
“Living by Grace” by Joel S. Goldsmith
I went on and purchased a few more of his books, actually text book style. Teaching is how to be spiritual and have God in our lives. It’s not religious however he does use references out of the Bible. There’s something about the Bible that holds weight to how we should live….
