Low carb-low blood sugar-high anxiety

Hello everyone!

Over the course of last 2 months I’ve been on a low carb diet, I’ve done a solid job following to a tee. However, I’ve noticed around 10-11am I get really weak, and my anxiety rears it’s ugly head. Has anyone else had troubles managing blood sugar while on low carb? If so, what carbs did you mix in to make sure blood sugars were maintained? My anxiety flairs have been so overwhelming that it’s going to be impossible to continue my current diet, which has me pretty defeated. Any suggestions would be very much welcomed!

Complex carbs are your friend. Whole wheat bread etc. No refined white sugars/convenient store foods. Look into wheatgrass or spirulina for regulating blood sugar.

Thx Taylor! Will do

Be careful with artificial sweeteners. Aspartame's chemical structure mimics neurotransmitters and can cause extra anxiety. I know this one messes with my system so I stay away from it.

Great info as I ingest tons of artificial sweeteners. This will take some work, but I’ll try to remove them and see if I notice a difference. Ty!!!

Yea aspartame messed with my anxiety. Sucralose and sugar alcohols my gi tract if I eat too much. Stevia seems to be the most mild for me. I use it in my tea. I hope you find what works for you. Just being on the sober diet train helped me out big time I added low carb after because who want diabetes. Good luck man.

After my birthday this month I’ll be joining you on the same type of eating plan. I’ve been eating unhealthy lately. Time to get back to basics. Hope you are feeling better.
