Made it to day 30 - yay! Ecstatic about that but I’m quickly learning early sobriety can be a lonely thing for a single person.
Congrats Brian!
You're gonna need that lonely time to bw with and for yourself. Do that 1st, thw rest will follow suit
Congratulations on your 30 days im a little over that myself. Just keep working the meetings and keep your self busy dont worry about a relationship right now work on your self that will keep you busy.
Same here. But just have to be the train that could. Just go out in the world. I've met more people since being sober 4 months. Put yourself out there.
Congrats yeah it can get lonely but keep busy look for sober events in your area
So wonderful !! I agree with Fiona there are people out there !! We are just used to the drinkers but find a hobby and hopefully you’ll make a friend … or even find friends you left behind …
30 days is a big milestone when we're used to being out there everyday. Congratulations to you!
Just remember, the circus is still in town.
Let me tell you something about that word lonely. It's actually a way that alcoholism tries to lure you back in and say you can't do this without me so you better have another drink. I know because I've been there. I believe that loneliness is a state of mind. And there's a difference between being alone and lonely.
I used to sit around wondering what sober people possibly could do without picking up a drink. To me it seemed like that kind of life would be so boring without picking up a drink but boy was I ever wrong.
There are classes that you can take on whatever your interest is. You can start a new hobby. You can learn how to play an instrument. You can start a martial arts program. The choices are endless. Having said all that, I highly recommend that you spend the first year concentrating on you and your recovery.
The reason I say this is because alcohol is cunning, baffling and Powerful.
Congratulations. There is a world full of people just like you. You don’t ever have to feel alone.
Thanks Jennifer!
Thanks so much for that reply Dave. I know you are 100% correct on alcohol trying to lure me. Need to appreciate the 30-day mark which is so important.
Peace my man!
Thanks Flo - appreciate the comment and wisdom!

Great advice- thanks so much!
Thanks for your comment Paula - helps knowing I’m not alone here.
You're welcome.
I'm 23 days and I realized I need to discover who I am again. I lost myself in an alcohol haze.
I'm not sure if I trust myself yet either. I do understand the loneliness but for me I think it's necessary right now
Congrats! Agreed also, that’s why I am happy to find this community!
