Man, a glass of wine would be nice right now.
If we were capable of having “ A glass” of wine ( or a beer for me ) I wouldn’t be on here
If I have one, I couldn’t stop until I black out, pass out, knocked out, make an idiot of myself or get some free bracelets from the local authorities. I don’t have to do that anymore and I know full well that it starts with a beer sounds good. Play the tape through to the end and I bet it will not sound so nice
Don’t try it Anakin
Sure, but They always mess up my order.
I order a glass of wine, I get that, but it always comes with a DUI, trouble at work, a fight at home, and an order of bottomless misery.
One glass for me would lead to bottles. Don’t do it.
I know the feeling. If I hadn't already proven to myself over and over that I can't handle just one beer or glass of wine I'd say let's do happy hour. Unfortunately I know I can't just do a single happy hour. Immediate gratification is one of my biggest struggles. Stay strong you got this.
That’s exactly what I’ve been doing: reminding myself of exactly how crappy I feel the next morning. Indeed, one glass of wine for me turns out to be 7. At least.

Totally my story, I pursued to be a normal drinker to the point of insanity for three years until I was completely defeated and surrendered
When people relapse it's because they believe the big lie; That this time, everything will be OK. But it never is, is it?
We have to learn to play the scene forward. If you drink you might feel some relief for a very short period of time but sooner or later you will be right back where you are at this moment carrying around more guilt realizing that you accomplished absolutely nothing.
If you're having cravings try taking in some sweets. You could try mixing some honey with orange juice.
Men and women drink essentially because they like the effect produced by alcohol. The sensation is so elusive that, while they admit it is injurious, they cannot after a time differentiate the true from the false. To them, their alcoholic life seems the only normal one. They are
restless, irritable and discontented
unless they can again experience the sense of ease and comfort which comes at once by taking a few drinks—drinks which they see others taking with impunity. After they have succumbed to the desire again, as so many do, and the
phenomenon of craving
develops, they pass through the well-known stages of a spree, emerging remorseful, with a firm resolution not to drink again. This is repeated over and over, and unless this person can experience
an entire psychic change
there is very little hope of his or her recovery.”
When I relapsed the last time it was from a big sip of beer. I don’t even like beer. At a restaurant with hubby on few months recovery and he ordered a Hugh cold beer. When he went to rest room I thought dam that looks so good. Big sip next day back to drinking 247.
One glass of wine and then 6 more and I can’t find my pants

Glad you're sober. Looks like you learned your lesson from believing the big lie alcohol tells us.
I am so lucky.

Man, waking up in jail and going to court for something the next morning that I don't remember sounds good right now.......
Is this a joke?
Bracelets??
That's where I know you from.
I think we had matching bracelets.
No. It's sarcasm. That's what would happen to me if I had "some" wine.
I get it.
I can relate.
I don't miss the blackouts either.
Glad we're not locked up in prison
