Man you know you really messed up when you wish you could wake up and it just be a nightmare. Last night I made a foolish mistake to go hangout with some friends I of course was not strong enough and ended up having some drinks although I didn’t feel intoxicated I knew that I should probably not drive but I did any way not only that but got distracted by my phone, I looked down for one second and ended up hitting a large medium curb that completely totaled my car! Although I’m so so thankful that I didn’t hit anyone or cause someone else to get into an accident I’m most likely facing DUI charges and am without a vehicle. I can’t express the amount of disappointment and shame I feel. I’m so disgusted with myself that I almost wish I wouldn’t have made it out alive last night.
Hang on, push reset and face the music… Make a commitment to turn the ship…. I’ve been doing the very same thing:) You can do it:)
That sucks. But you were not hurt, you didn’t hurt anyone else… yeah you are gonna have to deal with the consequences but it could be way way worse. You also know something else that doesn’t work for your sobriety. Cars can be replaced. Fines paid…. You can not be replaced Don’t beat yourself up too bad. Be gentle.
Yeah, this rucks. I know your state don’t mess around with dui’s also. My oldest daughter got one there and it was a nightmare. Jail, community service, whole nine yards for first one. You can smoke weed and wreck and get your hand slapped. Not alcohol. Feel for you. Hope things get better. Hope this is your bottom and you at least aren’t hurt. This can all be fixed with time and staying sober. Get new friends. Get into a recovery program to help you on this sober journey.
Hang in there
Maybe u can turn this into a positive , maybe if u work hard at it that after a while u can look back and think this is the wake up I needed to turn it all around. In my life it's taken tragic events for me to wake up and turn it all around but in my case it took time. Rome wasn't built in a day!!
Dautie. I can relate. Not only with what took place while the feelings of absolute disgust with one s own self.
I dealt with consequences during hands down, my worst period of life and I still kept drinking. Right. How f’ed up is that?!!
Pretty f’ed up.
You can beat this and right, while difficult…please give yourself some yes, compassion…if at all possible ( which that is possible ).
You deserve to be sober and live a good life, free from the demon that is alcohol. You deserve self-respect and a good, good life Dautie. I cannot emphasize so enough.

So glad you’re still with us. Easy Does It.
It takes what it takes to get & stay sober…at least you didn’t get 4 of them last night—I know one or two people who have…you are here and we understand you were you are! Alcohol is an allergy of the body, an obsession of the mind and a spiritual disease—which means if you’re an alcoholic you’ve entered a one man hind end kicking show, and the disease is wearing steel toed shoes, so the only way to win is to walk away! And do what’s suggested, don’t drink(no matter what), go to meetings, get a sponsor and call someone(s) BEFORE you drink!!! Good, luck, we need you and so does yourself! D
