Cravings usually only last about 20-30 minutes on average so if you can distract yourself for that period, there’s a good chance you can overcome it

Walk. write Sing to change your thinking

All of the above are good suggestions but for me I had to reprogram my brain and my reactions to life. In person AA/NA/CA meetings daily and evenings too. I used drugs and alcohol everyday and night, so I needed to put more effort and actions into my sobriety.
I’m here if you ever want to talk or have any questions

For me grabbing a soda helps, also journaling and if home alone is a trigger I get up and go do some mall walking and make a mental list of things I want to use my alcohol money on eventually. Also brushing your teeth helps a lot, because I don't want a drink after brushing my teeth. Hopefully something here helps! You can do this! :two_hearts:

For me, I had to always keep candy with me. Something about alcohol converting to sugar in the body.
It helps.
My sponsor told me to keep my hands busy and my mind would follow. Doing the dishes, cleaning the house. When I was done with that I would color mandalas. It sounds silly but the repetitive motion with coloring stills the mind. Soothes the Soul.
These are a few of my experiences that have worked for me as well as hitting meetings, work with a sponsor, work the steps and get some service work in and don't hesitate to reach out. Simple not Easy. Oh, and don't forget to pray your behind off!
We Do Recover!!
You got this!

What substance were you using ??

Keep yourself busy. I am constantly in program literature or talking to program people. Even though I’m an introvert and like to isolate myself from the rest of the world. I go to meetings every day. I have about 100 people on my phone, I talk to throughout the day. So even if I can’t be with them physically weird together and digital fellowship. Gotta love my smart phone to help keep me sober.

What are you withdrawing from if you dont mind me asking? Im currently WD from 7oh, pseudoindoxyl and MGM-15.

Grab some headphones, play some great music, and walk for 40 minutes.

Try meditating for 10 to 15 minutes. Find a place you can be alone in a quiet place if possible. The cravings will pass. Stay strong
