This is almost harder than giving up booze! I’m on day 5 and I’m struggling with appetite and mood. Any tips to make it easier?
Find something you enjoy doing as much as smoking. And just don't give in to the temptation it will get easier along the way
Being active helps to like running
This was hard for me as well. Smoking weed was ultimately my DOC. I didn’t sleep well for weeks. I was so used to baking my brains out before passing out. Plus, if I did wake up in the middle of the night, I took a few hits so that I could pass back out. I had the night sweats those first few weeks after quitting as well. Lack of sleep certainly didn’t help my mood. Getting high my “reward” for everything. Just knowing that I was going to get stoned later in the day, was enough for me to get thru the day. Basically, it was my reward for putting it up with “life”. Eventually it became the only thing I truly enjoyed. Addiction is a b!tch! The point is it’s going to take some time until your body and mind adjust. I went to meetings and got involved in a 12 step program. All of these kept me mindful of how getting high ruined my life. Sorry I don’t really have any tricks. I took the 12 step program route which introduced me to others, and helped me learn to live life without it. 15 months and going strong! You can do it too!
Hello! Fellow sober from weed pal here (26 months) when I quit, I quit cold Turkey so I was going through nasty withdrawals. What I found to be helpful in the beginning minus the withdrawals is to keep my mind and myself busy at all times. I love gaming so anything related to that helped me. Find something you enjoy, maybe art therapy would be good
